Look who I ran into at El Molino's 50th birthday celebration, Supervisor Mike McGuire. He's the one not wearing the super cool Elmo tie. He came to my table to ask about the Mark West kids and our watershed program. He has been a big supporter of our program. He is always impressed with the work and learning that we have done, especially the monitoring of the Mark West Creek. In fact, two years ago he joined us on a creek walk. He was a big hit with the students as he wanted to learn about the steelhead and the creek from them and they were happy to share.

Also at our table was the Superintendent of Guerneville School, Elaine Carlson. Boy was she impressed with the kind of friends the Mark West kids have.

Supervisor McGuire reported that he was wearing our "Creek Runs Through It" T-shirt the other day. Someday that shirt will make it to the State Senate! I know he will wear it as proudly as we do!
